PrintMe (“the app”, “we”) is a printing and scanning utility for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We never ask for your name, email address or any account credentials.
- Your photos, documents and scans stay on your device and go directly to your printer. We never upload them.
- We collect anonymous usage statistics and crash information to keep the app working.
What stays on your device
Everything you print or scan is processed entirely on your iPhone or iPad:
- Photos and documents you choose for printing are read from your device and sent straight to the printer you selected over your local network.
- Scans captured with the camera are converted to PDF on the device.
- Web pages you load in the built-in browser are rendered on the device.
- Prepared print jobs are saved in the app's own storage on your device so you can reprint them. Deleting a document, or deleting the app, removes them.
None of this content ever reaches our servers or any third party.
What we do collect
To operate and improve the app we use Google Firebase. The following is collected:
- An anonymous identifier. On first launch the app creates a random anonymous ID via Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It is not linked to your Apple Account, your name or your email. You can view it in Settings.
- Usage events. Which screens are opened, which print flows are used, whether a print succeeded or failed, and interactions with the subscription screen. These are recorded as counts and event names — never the contents of what you printed.
- Basic device information. App version, build number, device language and region, and operating system version.
- Subscription status. Whether a subscription is active, handled by RevenueCat on our behalf.
Printer information
To find printers, the app browses your local network for devices that advertise printing services. It reads the printer's name, model, location label and network address so it can show you the list and send jobs. iOS asks for your permission before this is allowed, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. Printer details are stored on your device; the printer name is mirrored to your anonymous record so your selection survives reinstalling.
Permissions the app requests
- Local Network — required to discover printers on your Wi-Fi.
- Photos — only the photos you explicitly select are read.
- Camera — used for document scanning and taking photos to print.
- Notifications — optional, used only for occasional product updates.
Every one of these is optional and the app tells you why before iOS asks.
Service providers
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config) — privacy information.
- RevenueCat — subscription management — privacy policy.
- Apple — payment processing for subscriptions. We never see your payment details.
How long we keep data
Anonymous usage records are retained for as long as the app is installed. You can erase everything we hold at any time using Settings → Delete My Data inside the app, which removes your documents, printers, settings and your entire server-side record. Deleting the app also ends all collection.
Children
PrintMe is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data. Because the app holds no identifying information, the fastest route is the in-app Delete My Data button. If you would like help, email us with the anonymous ID shown in Settings so we can locate the record.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app.
